Cross My Heart and Hope to Die.

I thought of this old phrase and it made me ponder: why do people say this? Do you really hope to die? I know it's meant to be used in the context of keeping promises, and the phrases historically does have some religious origins.

Dying to self is not an easy task, and it's not to be taken lightly. However, it is something that I hope I can achieve. Thus, my "Cross My Heart" design is sort of a prayer if you want to call it that.

I've based it off Galatians 2:20 which states: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

I know, I know... Yet, hope is not a strategy. You actually have to put it to action.
